The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) is recruiting for a full-time staff pathologist who is board certified in Anatomic Pathology. Additional certification in Clinical Pathology and/or Cytopathology is preferred, not required. Responsibilities include: Provide Surgical Pathology and/or Cytopathology case review and reporting Attend the principal tumor boards Participate in teaching, research, and clinical activities co-sponsored by Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston University School of Medicine, and Harvard Medical School Opportunity for an academic appointment commensurate with experience The successful candidate will join a collegial group of 10 pathologists. The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service operates across multiple sites (West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Brockton, Causeway, Lowell and Bedford). The division includes: Anatomic Pathology: Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, Hematopathology, Neuropathology, Autopsy, Histology, Immunohistochemistry Clinical Pathology: Blood Bank, Chemistry and Toxicology, Flow Cytometry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Point of Care, and Send-out testing The Service handles extensive testing (e.g., >3,000,000 tests/year) and provides reference laboratory support across VISN 1. Education and Licensure:

Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent; current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. state or territory; board certification required for faculty status for academic appointments. Basic Requirements: U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed where recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible, per VA policy) Medical degree from an approved school (LCME- or AOA-accredited; or foreign-trained with ECFMG verification as applicable) Residency in an approved core specialty program leading to board eligibility Proficiency in spoken and written English Ability to obtain a full and unrestricted medical license Selected applicants may be subject to a background/security investigation and online onboarding Board Certification : Required in Anatomic Pathology.

Preferred : Board Certification in Clinical Pathology and/or Cytopathology. Physical and Other Requirements:

Evaluation of physical, cognitive and emotional fitness; ability to work under stress and flexible in a changing environment. Participation in VA influenza vaccination program is required. Miscellaneous:
