Overview

Within the Site Sourcing organization or the Regional Sourcing Center, the New Product SD Engineer is responsible for the quality of all parts/processes supplied by external suppliers that are developed during the NPD process within the assigned categories/commodities. Drive continuous improvement within DI CE Supply Base by supporting New Product Development, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Approval and Qualifications, Current Issue Resolution, Lean Six Sigma deployment and Value Analysis / Value Engineering. Responsibilities Development & qualification of supplier product/process of new purchased parts through the DGSS APQP process, working with Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and the supplier (PPAP, Supplier process audits, etc.). Problem solving with suppliers during NPD. Participate in project reviews escalation to management and NPD team. Mitigation of risks. Support the development of suppliers that partner with DICE. Process excellence and capability within the supply base. Promotion of Lean Six Sigma deployment within the supply base. Participation in CI projects and cross-functional work to promote quality, productivity, strategic alliances, information sharing, customer support, and continuous improvement. Support strategic sourcing initiatives contributing to QDC improvements and monitoring/reporting of Business KPIs. As required, support the Regional Sourcing Center in emergency issues related to supplier quality/delivery issues. Compliance to DGSS and ensure suppliers comply with DICE requirements. Participate in and support supplier evaluation, selection, and risk management. Lead new supplier assessments (new supplier introduction and approval). Support the RSC organization in VA/VE, productivity improvement, and optimum usage of supplier capacity. Supplier change request management.

Job Requirements

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering. Certificate Required: Six Sigma or Lean Sigma. Experience Required: 2-5 years. 3+ years of experience including equivalent position (CE industry preferred). Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance experience. Travel Required: 25-50% Equivalent experience in lieu of degree accepted. Certified Quality Auditor/ Registered Lead Assessor or equivalent preferred. Green belt training preferred. Broad base technical knowledge; project management skills. Knowledge and ability to apply quality tools and techniques (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, Problem solving, LSS). Quality audit experience (system/process) and understanding of international QS requirements. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization. Experience implementing processes or projects and cross-functional work. Understanding of sourcing risk mitigation, negotiation, and contracting decisions. Strong business aptitude; team facilitation; strong computer skills. Written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills; good judgment and quick analysis on complex situations; self-starter. Fluent in English; minimum one additional language preferred.
