Senior Credit Specialist (NYC or Greenwich, CT)

Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr Additional compensation types: Annual Bonus Banking client is seeking a Senior Credit Specialist to join their Credit Administration team in NYC or Greenwich, CT. Prior commercial lending, underwriting, portfolio management experience within the banking or financial services industry is required. Responsibilities Underwrite loan requests that are assigned after the initial sales contact by a Banker, focusing on commercial lending. Protect the Bank by providing an unbiased and objective view of the prospective borrower and clearly disclose all identified risks. Oversee and manage a loan portfolio, including monitoring client compliance, collecting required annual financials, clearing financial and collateral exceptions, loan renewals, modifications, annual reviews, site visits, and other portfolio-management activities. Price and structure loan requests, prepare Term Sheets, and collect the financials and other information necessary for underwriting in accordance with the Bank's Loan Policy. Analyze financial spreads and cash flows prepared by the Credit Analyst and use this information to complete underwriting via the Credit Approval Request and Credit Approval Memo. Collaborate with Commercial Loan Administration to ensure an efficient closing for all assigned loan requests. Maintain contact related to origination, underwriting, closing, and portfolio management to support a seamless process.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in economics, finance, business, or accounting. 5-10+ years of prior commercial lending, underwriting, or portfolio management experience within banking or financial services. Strong interpersonal skills and a service orientation for internal and external customers. Strong underwriting skills with the ability to analyze financial spreads and cash flows. Proficient portfolio management skills with the ability to manage multiple loan relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills; intellectual curiosity and motivation. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Bank's loan origination system. Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
