Technical Records Specialist 2 - Analysis
The Idaho Department of Insurance (DOI) is looking for a full-time Technical Records Specialist 2. Working in public service provides a significant source of personal fulfillment and a sense of purpose, as we strive to make a measurable difference in the lives of Idahoans. This position is an important part of our Company Activities - Analysis Section. Company Analysis protects Idahoans by monitoring insurance entities to make sure they can pay claims and are following the applicable laws. As our Technical Records Specialist 2 (TRS2) you will need to be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and enjoy research and validating data as much as you enjoy interacting with customers! In this Technical Records Specialist 2 position you would be a member of a five-person team. You will have the notable responsibility of unitizing your critical thinking skills to review, analyze, and assess records for compliance with Idaho law. The recommendations for approval and/or denial of initial applications you will make will be a valuable contribution to the Company Activities processes. Example of duties: Maintain various statements and records which include processing, applications, reviewing financial statements, reviewing our website and make recommendations to the supervisor. Research, analyze, and problem solve through the interpretation and application of state laws and regulations. Maintain accuracy of information on electronic databases. Prepare reports which may include correspondence, trackers, spread sheets, reports and special projects. Frequent contact with internal and external customers, which requires good customer service skills. Minimum qualifications: Experience: Monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors. Interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs. Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues. Interacting with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations. Entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system. Composing and proofreading business correspondence. Preferred/desirable qualifications: Experience in providing excellent customer service, in a timely fashion, via interacting/communicating effectively through email and on the telephone. Experience maintaining strict confidentiality of non-public information. Experience using basic Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
