Summary
This position will be responsible for delivering mission-critical data center projects by providing consultative services, engineering support, project development and management support, and quality control. It involves collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery while contributing to business development efforts to secure new mission-critical projects. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, with strong technical expertise and client-facing skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Consultative and Business Development Services: Provide strategic consultation to clients and internal stakeholders on data center and mission-critical facility requirements, including power, cooling, redundancy, and operational considerations. Ensure all solutions align with current industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, NFPA) and client objectives. Serve as a key liaison between clients, vendors, and internal departments, maintaining clear communication throughout the project. Build trust and long-term partnerships through performance, responsiveness, and technical integrity. Collaborate with the business development team to secure new mission-critical projects. Prepare technical proposals, participate in client-facing presentations, and represent Kraus-Andersons data center and mission-critical construction expertise. Engineering & Technical Support: Review and assist in the development of engineering designs, MEP specifications, and layout plans to ensure technical excellence and constructability. Validate that all engineering documents meet applicable codes, standards, and reliability expectations. Project Coordination & Delivery Assurance: Support Project Manager with mission-critical project planning (proposal reviews, drawings, time frames, staffing, etc.). Ensure all mission-critical milestones and quality benchmarks are met throughout the project lifecycle. Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and trade partners to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery of mission-critical construction work. Monitor project progress and proactively resolve technical and logistical challenges. Risk Management, Quality and Compliance: Identify and assess risks related to MEP systems and operational continuity. Develop mitigation strategies to protect uptime, safety, and project timelines. Maintain complete and accurate project documentation, including design reviews, commissioning reports, quality control logs, and closeout packages. Ensure all project records comply with contractual and regulatory requirements. Implement and oversee rigorous QA/QC protocols during construction to ensure high standards of reliability, safety, and performance. Conduct regular field inspections and testing as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in data center engineering, construction, or mission-critical facility design, with proven project delivery and client engagement. Strong knowledge of critical data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and cooling systems. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, ASHRAE, TIA-942). Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software. Understanding of construction processes, codes, and regulations. Experience in reviewing and interpreting: CFD reports, pipe/hydraulic analysis, psychrometric analysis, energy modeling (Trace, IES, HAP), PUE/WUE calculations. Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office 365). Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface with internal and external customers. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide exemplary customer service. Ability to use time productively and maintain a strong work ethic; uphold company values. Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Advanced certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, or data center credentials) are preferred. Other
