Electrical Engineer
The Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of drones, focusing on new electronic systems and enhancing the current fleet. This position involves creating state-of-the-art, eco-conscious Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for the transmission industry, partnering with utilities and contractors. Responsibilities Design and develop new products and enhancements using electrical engineering knowledge. Conduct electrical circuit and system-level design analysis, hardware testing, and troubleshooting. Develop test simulations, methods, and perform necessary testing or data collection. Conduct root cause failure analysis from component to system level. Support continuation engineering of existing released products. Perform reliability analysis to improve product quality. Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes. Provide detailed project estimates for time and cost. Collaborate with outside design partners and vendors for new product designs and maintain current products. Maintain technical coordination with Engineering, product design, test, EMC engineering, and manufacturing teams. Coordinate pilot production of new products with other engineering, manufacturing, sales/marketing, and quality assurance staff. Provide engineering support to factory and customer support teams. Provide and coordinate engineering support for prototype builds and lab testing. Write test plans and procedures for manufacturing and testing. Stay updated on relevant safety and electrical compliance standards and educate the team on changes. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering. Experience with subsystems including power supplies, video systems, camera systems, LIDAR systems, radar systems, servers, motors, and motor controllers. Proficiency in electrical design within the UAV space, small manufacturing required. Expertise in software such as Altium, PCB design, and electronics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in PCB layout is preferred. Work Environment The work environment includes a shop space and R&D facilities. The working hours are typically from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM. The company offers a dynamic start-up atmosphere with opportunities to design aircraft from start to finish. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
