Leads a team who performs SQL Server database administration functions, including maintenance of multiple environments (development, testing and production), patching, troubleshooting, SSIS & SSRS deployments and security management. Leads a team who performs database administration duties, including installations, patching, backup and recovery management, schema management, startup and shutdown. Supervises a team who designs and implements redundant systems, policies and procedures for database recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection, maximum availability and integrity of data assets by assigning and reviewing work of subordinates. Monitors and analyzes data platforms to ensure database is available, secure, healthy, efficient and recoverable as per expectations. Builds and manages HA & DR architectures like Clustering, Replication and Always On. Implements and manages the physical databases of mission critical systems capacity to determine future storage needs. Collaborates with application owners to develop a seamless process to migrate their schema and data to the data platform. Partners with development and quality assurance teams to deliver robust, quality on-time solutions. Directs, provides guidance and assists subordinates in testing, developing and troubleshooting database applications. Minimum Qualifications
Professional/Vendor Certification(s) in database administration and one of the following: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, and two years of satisfactory full-time database administration experience (design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management). A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time IT experience, at least two years of which are database administration as described above. A satisfactory equivalent of education and/or experience to the above; 30 undergraduate semester credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for 6 months of IT experience; a master's degree may substitute for one year of database administration experience. All candidates must have at least one year of database administration experience as described above. Preferred Skills
Strong understanding of database structures, principles and practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2014/2016/2017/2019. Proficiency in SQL Server installation, configuration, patching and database backup/recovery. Knowledge of Windows Server, security delegation, storage components. Solid knowledge of SQL Server HADR solutions, data replication, SSIS and SSRS. Experience in platform monitoring, troubleshooting SQL Server CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention. Database performance tuning and maintenance with strong troubleshooting capabilities. Ability to conduct research into infrastructure and database issues, standards and products as required. Experience with data warehouses and ETL. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and willingness to learn new technologies. Knowledge of 3rd party DBA tools and applications. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws and compliance with data security policies. Technical documentation skills. Additional Information
