Responsibilities Plan, design, and implement network, server, and storage infrastructure based on project requirements, capacity plans, and system support. Provide security consulting and support for IT infrastructure across multiple platforms (firewalls, proxies, WAFs, ACLs, NAC, operating systems, NetScaler load balancers, DDoS protection, and other network devices). Assist in design, operation, maintenance, and support of TECO and NMGC network infrastructure, including on-premise LAN/WAN, IPAM, Wi-Fi, VPNs, proxies, perimeter firewall management, DNS, Azure cloud environments, automation, and NAC/user access. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as NERC CIP, SOX, and PCI; participate in disaster recovery planning and execution. Install, configure, and maintain WAN/LAN connectivity (core and campus switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, load balancers); manage DNP over IP/serial SCADA and Smart GRID communication hardware. Manage VoIP, SIP, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP routing, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), NAT/PAT, IPsec/SSL VPN, GRE, SD-WAN, MPLS, and related network technologies. Support network security controls (firewalls, WAFs, proxies, NAC, IDS/IPS, VPNs) and ensure secure configurations across enterprise assets. Provide third-level technical support for security systems and authentication on all operating system platforms.

Qualifications

Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent IT discipline (e.g., MIS). Licenses & Certifications Required: At least one related network, system, OS, or information security certification (e.g., MCSA, VCP, CCNA, CEH, GIAC, CISSP). Preferred: ITIL v3, CCNA, MCSA, VCP, Security+, CISSP. Experience Level 1: Minimum four (4) years of related hands-on experience with Windows, VMware, firewall support, DDoS protection, proxies, WAFs, NetScaler load balancers, or Cisco Networking. In lieu of some experience, consider an Associates Degree (4 years) or Bachelors Degree (2 years). Level 2: Minimum six (6) years of related hands-on experience; Level 3: Minimum eight (8) years; Level 4: Minimum ten (10) years. See each level for specifics on requirements and certifications. Progressively higher working knowledge of network, server, and security controls infrastructure. Strong familiarity with switching, routing, DNS/DHCP, Windows Active Directory, VMware, VOIP, storage networking, firewall support, DDoS protection, proxies, WAF, NetScaler, network segmentation, NAC, IDS/IPS, antivirus, cybersecurity best practices, and hardware installation/maintenance. Packet analysis, denial-of-service protection, critical thinking, analytical and communication skills, and ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences. Understanding of regulatory requirements (NERC CIP, SOX, PCI) and ability to ensure compliance.

Working Conditions

Normal working conditions with occasional extended hours during the week and weekends. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders to service network access points. Environment includes office and operational settings (Power Plant, Solar, Control Center). Career Levels
