O&M Systems Administrator for Linux Systems with Security Clearance

Mauck Research Group Location: Springfield, VA | Security clearance: TS/SCI with Poly | Salary: $150,000 - $225,000 per year Mauck Research Group is a small cyber research and development company exploring emerging offensive and defensive cyber problems for our clients. The program provides key supercomputing capabilities for solving important problems in science and technology. We are seeking a senior-level Linux Systems Administrator with Software Configuration Management (SCM) experience to support a Linux-based HPC environment and a Multi-Level Security network. Responsibilities Manage Linux server infrastructure in support of the program on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) with SELinux enforcement. Support Linux-based users on a Multi-Level Security network; resolve end-user computer system problems and improve performance on Linux/Red Hat platforms. Apply configuration management and change management processes using tools such as Git and SVN; assist with release engineering and build automation. Work with identity management systems including LDAP and token-based authentication. Develop and maintain bash scripts and Ansible playbooks; support provisioning software such as Red Hat Satellite or equivalents. Collaborate with customers/user representatives and support the software configuration management (SCM) processes. Ensure security compliance of deployed systems and daily operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 6 years of professional experience. Candidate must have Security+ certification. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph; U.S. Citizenship required. Configuration management and change management experience using Git, SVN, and related tools. Strong Linux operating system knowledge; ability to solve end-user computer system problems, independently in a lab environment. Knowledge of data communications and networking; experience with Linux Red Hat operating systems, networking, and communications systems. Experience with Red Hat Satellite or other provisioning software; experience with identity management systems (LDAP, token-based authentication). Experience creating and maintaining Bash scripts and Ansible playbooks. Desirable: Splunk, Security Center, Nessus; Lustre, NFS, file systems; SELinux configuration and policy; Agile processes and Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA); strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
