We developed a patented health, wellness and safety platform for seniors that collects data from a wearable to deliver critical and timely insights to caregivers. We are deployed throughout the United States with peer-reviewed and published results. Position Mission
We are looking for a talented Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Embedded Engineering team and work on our core IoT product. This role is ideal for an individual who is creative and has excellent analytical skills to solve complex problems in an efficient manner with strong communication skills, adaptability and a collaborative mindset and a passion for mission driven culture to make a major impact on aging seniors health. We encourage and support novel solutions to problems and have 22 issued patents including multiple patents by our embedded systems team members. Being part of a small team, your work sees immediate use in production at scale and you get to shape the product. We have been using Machine Learning since 2014 and Deep Learning neural nets since 2015 in our products and are now road mapping LLM use at the edge. Responsibilities
Work on firmware and software development for embedded systems/microcontrollers. Develop code that is production-ready and maintain Over the Air update fleet management functionality. Work closely with a variety of teams including software application developers, system architects, and other firmware developers to ensure cohesive integration of various products and protocols. Be able to integrate the latest technologies to enhance wearable performance and battery life. Work to design and debug future hardware revisions of the product including board bring up. Be goal-oriented, and deliver products on time to ensure the success of the company. Work with various HW communication protocols like SPI, UART, and I2C to work with an array of onboard sensors and improve efficiency. Work with NOR and NAND flash file systems and ensure the longevity of the memory storage unit on the device. Be proficient with RTOS concepts and develop efficiently in a multi-threaded environment. Work with Board level testing and End of line testing modules to ensure high quality of devices coming out of the manufacturing plant. Have a thorough understanding of different networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, TLS, SSL, and core WIFI, Ethernet, and RF understanding to design and use protocol stacks efficiently. Work with the manufacturer on factory jig setups, End of Line Testing Quality Control Software program development Create and maintain factory software tools for hardware validation. We are now seeking FDA clearance for certain aspects of our product and you will collaborate with our internal Regulatory Affairs Specialist. To follow FDA required processes for software engineering, version management and quality system. To participate in internal and external technical audits of software and hardware To document substantial equivalence of software versions To perform root cause analysis for Corrective Action and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) Qualifications
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in C/C++ on Cortex ARM processors, and RTOS programming in commercial setting Knowledge of: MEMS, TCP/IP, SPI, UART, USART, I2C, I2S, GPIO, Pin configuration, and low power states, board bring up Familiar with NOR, NAND - wear leveling and file system implementations Experience using: RF, WIFI (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth, WebSockets, JSON, Protobuf Excellent communication skills including speaking in front of a company audience Demonstrated acumen steeped in discovery Self-starter, experience in developing software for production devices Comfortable with data and analysis Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment; remaining flexible and agile Ability to travel if needed to manufacturing facility in Asia Adept at project management and cross-functional collaboration Team player with no ego and strong interpersonal skills BA/BS or higher degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience Preferred Additional Qualifications
Working knowledge of python Data engineering Basic understanding of data science and/or inclination to learn and implement classification models on edge devices
