System Administrator III

for a future funded role that provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. The role manages IT system infrastructure and processes related to these systems and provides day-to-day operational support for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Includes Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution, and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Responsibilities include dispatch system and hardware problem resolution, configuring and managing Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems, and implementing OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance. US citizenship is required. Responsibilities Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems Assist users in accessing and using IT systems Provide Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution Support for escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers Support dispatch system and hardware problems and participate in resolution Configure and manage Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems; install/load OS software; troubleshoot; maintain network component integrity; implement OS enhancements Support system design, mission architecture and associated hardware Understand system administration interdependencies within Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Analyze and resolve complex problems related to server hardware, applications and software integration

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and ten (10) years of system administration experience or fifteen (15) years' experience in lieu of degree
