Materials Planning Specialist

to join our El Segundo onsite team. This role is responsible for managing staff, demand planning, supply planning, performance reporting and cross-functional collaboration. Activities include compiling, calculating and reviewing demand plans, analyzing and setting inventory policies and placing purchase orders with suppliers to fulfil forecasted requirements. You Will

Responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient acceptance of inbound goods and inventory for culinary operations to meet required volumes and timeline goals. Manage, direct and oversee the duties and activities of the purchasing coordinators and storeroom staff. Conduct daily category inventory counts to minimize over-ordering and over-stocking of perishable items. Manage cross-functional data flow to support demand and supply planning across all stages of the product life cycle (Phase In, Current, Phase Out, Obsolete). Manage product requirements of forecasts, correlate forecast requirements and ordering parameters, and distribution constraints to optimize supply chain performance. Collaborate with Corporate Procurement, Finance, and Operations to suggest and implement inventory policies that meet performance objectives. Generate purchase orders in adherence with safety stock policies to ensure products are available through the supply chain to meet consumption requirements. Manage storeroom stock levels to optimize storage and handling costs; proactively identify stock-out situations and propose action plans. Design and execute complex recovery plans in the event of a projected service failure. Maintain relationships with suppliers and leverage Corporate Procurement support when addressing performance issues. Design and execute reporting to measure network health, forecast accuracy and variability, order fill rate, expired stock value, and supplier performance. Identify quantities and delivery schedules of materials to optimize orders for delivery and timing to meet forecast requirements. Analyze Production Planning reports to ensure materials planning supports business requirements. Work with Category Management and Storeroom staff to identify root causes of materials shortages and develop plans with appropriate suppliers. Ensure purchase orders include all required information to meet vendor criteria and system requirements. Ensure purchase orders are accurate and address supplier requirements and agreements. Education:

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; or Associate degree with 3-5 years of experience in CPG, food manufacturing and/or food & beverage, demand planning. Demonstrated success in a similar role. Excellent time management with the ability to prioritize a high workload. Understanding of principles and cost drivers. Ability to build rapport across the company with effective communication and negotiation skills. Strong computer skills, including advanced Excel. Confident approach and ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience in purchasing with an ERP system implementation and maintenance. Proven experience in material or production planning; strong analytical and administrative skills. Experience working in the catering industry and/or food manufacturing is highly regarded.
