GHD . The US West Region is looking for a motivated Senior Transportation Project Manager to support GHD’s Highways, Roads, Bridges practice throughout California and the US West. This role focuses on the delivery of highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails/active transportation, bridges, and related improvements. Location: California (CA) with a primary focus on our California offices; the position is networked through West Region offices. Key responsibilities
Project Governance: Clarify roles and responsibilities within the project team and ensure project compliance with the organization’s program and portfolio management structures. Portfolio Management: Plan and manage delivery of projects within an area of expertise using an appropriate project management methodology to achieve intended outcomes. Project Team Management: Lead large or multiple project teams; define the project vision, coordinate actions, and develop team capability through training and mentoring. Project Risk and Issue Management: Identify risks and issues, coordinate responses, and implement solutions as needed. Project Benefit Realization: Conduct baseline assessments and post-implementation analyses to evaluate benefits realization. Project Resource Management: Manage deployment of project resources and budgets, including forecasts and variances. Culture of Innovation: Drive innovative, multistakeholder solutions across business units (e.g., idea generation platforms, jam sessions, hackathons). Leadership and Direction: Communicate strategy and motivate teams to achieve local business goals. Personal Capability Building: Pursue ongoing development and certifications relevant to the role; maintain knowledge of technology and industry best practices. Transformational Change Management: Lead or manage substantial workstreams within transformational programs with structured change management approaches. Stakeholder Management: Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans to ensure appropriate voice and relationships. Project Scope Definition: Plan and lead information gathering, analysis, and stakeholder consultation; define and agree on deliverables. Project Assurance: Oversee assurance reviews and address issues to assure time, budget, and quality targets. Enterprise Business Analysis: Interpret business needs and identify solution recommendations at the business unit level. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; master’s degree preferred. General experience: Over 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in transportation and municipal engineering, with planning & design experience; construction experience a plus. Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California required. Compensation and Employment Details
Salary Range: $138,000 - $207,000, based on experience.
