Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Suppliers Primary Evaluations, PCPA audits, Technical Sign-off, APQP Implementation, Risk assessment and mitigation plan signoff, Design review, Tool Kick off, Tool Development Tracking, Fixtures / gauges / Tools readiness review / execution Tool Trails
  • As T0, T1, T2 and T3 Parts Fitments Report & Corrective Actions Approval For Fit & Functions
  • ECN / FETE implementations, Testing & Validations, Safe Launch, PSW Sign-off, Smooth SOP + Ramp up Final Development Handover
  • Supplier Performance Enhancement, Excellence in Delivery
  • Around 40% travel to various suppliers' locations

Essential Skills

  • Heavy Engineering Product exposure
  • Exposure to forging, casting, machining, sheet metal fabrication and standard hardware; good understanding of material standards, AWS welding standards and reading complex engineering prints
  • Good exposure to sheet metal design and manufacturing aspects, GDT, design for manufacturing concepts

Desirable Skills

Experience with Supplier Quality Engineering related to heavy machinery

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Must Have)
  • Certification: Welding Metallurgy Certification (Nice to Have)
  • Experience: 5–10 years (minimum 5 years acceptable)

Must-Have & Industry Experience

  • Industry Experience: Heavy engineering sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace, Locomotive, Truck, Heavy Machinery (e.g., earth-moving equipment, long machinery). Note: Candidates from medical or small-scale product industries are not suitable.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of forging, casting, machining, materials, and welding; hands-on experience with heavy sheet metal fabrication and welding of large steel structures/enclosures
  • Certifications: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is highly preferred

Schedule & Travel

  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (local time), 40 hours/week
  • Travel: ~40% to supplier locations nationwide (expenses reimbursed)
  • Overtime: Minimal, as needed

  • The client is seeking candidates with stable work histories; frequent short-term assignments or job-hopping may be a disqualifier.
