How Your Role Fits Into Boldt
The Contract & Risk Manager collaborates with the operating group leadership team, corporate risk management, and legal to develop and execute strategies related to risk management practices while ensuring alignment with operational business goals. This role engages, advises, and supports project teams with strategic guidance, training, and resources to implement risk management policies and procedures to protect Boldt’s assets and minimize liability exposures. The Contract & Risk Manager maintains insight into the business unit’s strategy, goals, culture, financial position, and competitive landscape and shares relevant information with corporate risk management to create and execute appropriate strategies in support of the business.
What You Get To Do
- Serve as primary contact for employees and leaders to address risk management issues and maintain credibility with the organization.
- Manage initial contract review including identifying benefits and potential disadvantages and coordinating legal and insurance review of terms.
- Coordinate insurance and bonding requirements for project bids, contract review, and execution with broker partners and Boldt legal.
- Analyze insurable risks and risk mitigation opportunities; coordinate with project teams on exposures and appropriate coverages.
- Work with the contract review team to identify proper subcontract exhibits and flow-downs.
- Review and negotiate modifications to Boldt’s standard subcontract terms.
- Provide prequalification feedback on subcontractor partners at a local level.
- Assist with claim management efforts (workers compensation, general liability, automobile liability, builders risk) at the operating group level.
- Support annual renewal of the corporate property and casualty insurance program.
- Collaborate with corporate risk management to identify educational needs and deliver training on insurance and risk issues.
- Provide constructive consultation based on understanding of the operating group’s goals and strategies.
- Act as liaison between the operating group and corporate risk management to communicate market and business conditions.
- Proactively identify market changes and trends to create awareness and build efficiencies.
- Support risk management initiatives to champion OneBoldt and risk management team success.
- Participate in risk management meetings, project meetings, and operations team/leadership meetings as determined.
What We Expect From You
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least five years of insurance and risk management experience in construction or related field, with experience in managing others.
- Industry certifications such as ARM, CRM, or CRIS are a positive consideration.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft O365.
- A valid driver’s license may be required. An annual MVR check may be conducted; outcomes may affect participation in vehicle programs.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours and to move occasionally to access workspaces. Constant use of a computer and office equipment is required. Some lifting may be necessary (up to 15 pounds). This role operates primarily in an office environment and may require overtime and weekend work.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $132,300-$174,700 per year. Actual compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, location, and other business needs. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work at the San Francisco office; location may affect the salary range.
