Investment Management - PSG Investment Support - Analyst/Associate role in the New York or West Conshohocken location. Middle Office position within the Portfolio Solutions Group (PSG) Investment Team. The PSG is a multi-asset investment management team offering custom, risk-aware multi-asset solutions for institutional and high-net-worth clients. The Investment team manages $34Bn in assets with team members in New York, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, and West Conshohocken.

Responsibilities

  • Work with portfolio managers/investment team to support trades and order generation, including trading of mutual funds, equities, equity index futures, fixed income securities, fixed income derivatives, FX forwards and private placement funds.
  • Experience with investments operations (trade lifecycle from front to back with counterparties, custodian, fund admin, transfer agent).
  • Monitor overall investment performance and attribution to understand investment characteristics and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Complete investment subscription and redemption documents accurately and efficiently.
  • Support new business onboarding or termination, liaising with legal, document management, AML requests, and fund questions regarding underlying clients.
  • Enter trades via multiple order management systems for public and private investments.
  • Review daily cash flows into funds and execute trades to align exposures.
  • Collaborate with Middle Office team to process subscriptions and redemptions as requested by the investment team.
  • Monitor daily portfolio cash availability and troubleshoot with portfolio services teams across MSIM or external custodians.
  • Review client IMAs to ensure investment guidelines are correctly coded in trading and compliance systems.
  • Coordinate with Middle Office, Operations, GMA, and other teams for timely communications, execution of trade requests, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure policy and desktop procedures are updated regularly and reflect best practices.
  • Opportunity to work on special projects in support of the PSGMO senior manager.
  • Business management responsibilities in support of PSGMO senior manager.

Qualifications / Technical Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge of the global investment management industry.
  • Understanding of multi-asset investments (mutual funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX forwards) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute during peak trading times.
  • Strong communication skills to interface with quantitative colleagues and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail within a complex investment ecosystem.
  • Business majors in Finance, Accounting or Business Management; 3+ years of finance industry experience.
  • Knowledge of investments attributes of alternatives (hedge & private equity funds) and public assets (equities, fixed income, derivatives) is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment; strong written and oral communication; self-motivated with strong organizational skills; ability to learn quickly with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn operating/trading systems; solution-oriented mindset with problem-solving within current and target operating models.
