Position: Senior Fund Accountant – Private Debt | Boston, MA

A prestigious investment firm specializing in credit strategies is actively looking to add a Senior Fund Accountant to its Boston-based team. This role is a great fit for professionals with a background in accounting or finance who are looking to expand their experience in the private debt and credit space. The position offers extensive exposure to investment operations, financial reporting, and fund structures across a diverse range of strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and review NAV calculations, capital account statements, and financial reports prepared by third-party administrators
  • Liaise with global operations teams to delegate tasks, review outputs, and manage recurring deliverables
  • Monitor and validate key financial elements including expenses, management fees, and performance allocations
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders (auditors, tax advisors, administrators) to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, IR, and Investment teams to streamline operational workflows
  • Maintain and update internal fund records, capital activity dashboards, and valuation data
  • Participate in the preparation and review of investor notices related to capital calls and distributions
  • Support tracking and reporting of complex investment structures and transactional events (e.g., restructurings, forbearances)
  • Coordinate audit requests and contribute to year-end reporting cycles
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance internal processes and control frameworks

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • At least 3 years of professional experience, including 2+ years in public accounting or fund administration (Big 4 background or asset management experience highly valued)
  • CPA certified or on track to obtain certification
  • Solid grasp of GAAP with a concentration in fund accounting and investment reporting
  • Experience with credit-focused instruments, structured products, or private funds
  • Knowledge of partnership accounting; familiarity with U.S. tax regulations for investment funds is a plus
  • Proficient in fund accounting systems such as Investran, Geneva, or similar platforms
  • Advanced Excel capabilities; familiarity with PowerPoint is useful for internal reporting and presentations

Compensation

Base salary up to $125,000 + annual bonus + comprehensive benefits.
