Overview
Program Coordinator - JRELL (Bilingual in Chinese Required) at Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC). The JRELL program focuses on uplifting and motivating youth ages 14-24 with limited English language skills. Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the JRELL Program Coordinator will be responsible for comprehensive vocational training and employment services, including job readiness skills training, goal identification, individualized job search support, job development, on-the-job coaching, and ongoing work-based vocational assessment.
Status: Full-time (40 hours/week); Non-Exempt
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and implementation of the Job Readiness for English Language Learners (JRELL) Program.
- Target city-wide outreach and recruitment focusing on English Language Learners between ages 14-24.
- Develop curriculum and facilitate vocational training workshops including resume writing, job interview skill-building, and strength/talent identification to meet program learning objectives.
- Recruit worksites to host program participants for subsidized internships and provide support to volunteer worksite supervisors.
- Provide personal and vocational guidance for youth using vocational and interest assessments, and develop individualized vocational goals and plans with participants.
- Provide case management and referral services to high-need youth and young adults, assisting with job placement and milestone verification.
- Counsel youth in resolving personal issues that may affect work/school performance.
- Support the hiring, training, and coordination of program staff, including onboarding, scheduling, and day-to-day guidance and communication.
- Prepare program participants for subsidized employment at nonprofit, public, and private sector placements.
- Develop and manage program budgets, including monitoring expenses.
- Maintain an up-to-date list of available jobs appropriate for youth.
- Cultivate relationships with employers, developing jobs for youth and young adults.
- Complete all required written documentation and reports.
- Refer youth to appropriate services within CYC or other agencies.
- Attend mandatory meetings and trainings for the benefit of the program and staff.
- Act as a liaison and collaborate with other service providers.
- Support program-wide events.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or a minimum of 2+ years’ experience delivering workforce development programs.
- Bilingual in English and Cantonese/Mandarin is required.
- Experience facilitating workshops for high school and TAY-aged youth.
- Ability to work with ethnically diverse groups of low-income youth, including English Language Learners, to support their social and emotional needs during transition.
- Experience with San Francisco's diverse communities and neighborhoods; experience with community-based service providers and private sector partners.
- Experience in conducting interviews and assessments with youth and parents.
- Ability to work as part of a team, prioritize multiple tasks, and work independently in a high-pressure environment.
- Familiarity with job-seeking and job coaching skills; strong organizational and facilitation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; competency with PC-based software (Microsoft Office); proficiency with Google Suite and Zoom.
- Ability to model professionalism and a strong work ethic; strong collaboration skills.
- Able to lift or move at least 25 lbs.; willingness to work evenings, weekends, and participate in outdoor activities.

Salary: $28 - $31 per hour plus benefits
