About the Role
We are seeking an exceptionally accomplished and visionary Senior Named Account Executive to join our Enterprise/Field Sales team. In this expert-level role, you will drive Cloudflare’s most strategic customer engagements, securing and expanding critical platform sales within focused accounts. The ideal candidate possesses leadership in sales, a deep understanding of enterprise architecture across business, data, applications, and technology, and the ability to articulate how Cloudflare integrates into modern cloud operating models.
As a Senior Named Account Executive, you will demonstrate the highest level of sales proficiency, ensure accurate forecasting and strategic pipeline management, and consistently exceed targets. You will educate customers and partners on Cloudflare’s product ecosystem and its place within the security landscape. You will apply executive sponsorship programs, engage CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs, and lead virtual teams that include VPs and SVPs to navigate and close complex opportunities. You will shape customers’ digital transformation journeys and position Cloudflare as a strategic partner.
What You'll Do
- Executive-Level Strategic Revenue Leadership: Own and execute the most critical territory and account plans, consistently exceeding multi-million dollar sales targets by closing large-scale platform sales within focused, strategic accounts.
- Precision Forecasting & Pipeline Mastery: Lead with accurate forecasting and proactive pipeline management. Provide insights and guidance that shape the sales organization.
- Enterprise Architecture & Business Model Expertise: Demonstrate expert understanding of Enterprise Architecture across four pillars and map Cloudflare solutions to customer business models within a modern cloud operating model.
- C-Suite Engagement & Executive Sponsorship: Manage complex engagements across multiple business units and engage with CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence: Lead virtual teams including Product Managers, VPs, and SVPs to manage and close strategic opportunities; remove roadblocks and share learnings.
- Digital Transformation Visionary: Champion digital transformation and identify opportunities for Cloudflare within market trends.
- Organizational Communication & Feedback: Communicate clearly across departments and locations; review performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Long-Term Strategic Impact: Articulate long-term impact decisions and model Cloudflare’s highest standards.
- Define Goals & Drive Efficiency: Define quarterly goals and metrics; understand interdependencies and remove blockers.
- Company-Wide Innovation & Problem Solving: Drive efficiency and innovation across the department and company.
- Inclusive Leadership & Future-Proofing: Bring diverse perspectives to anticipate future needs and contribute to Cloudflare’s success.
- Other Proficiency with sales and BI platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, G Suite, MS Office, MEDDPICC); travel as required.
Examples of Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- 10+ years selling complex, multi-million dollar technology solutions in a B2B enterprise model with a track record of exceeding quota.
- Deep knowledge of Cloudflare’s product suite and the security landscape; ability to educate customers and partners at an expert level.
- Mastery of Customer Enterprise Architecture (Business, Data, Applications, Technology) and mapping to business models.
- Experience applying and managing executive sponsorship programs with CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs.
- Experience leading virtual teams of VPs and SVPs to close strategic opportunities.
- Strong ability to position Cloudflare as a strategic partner in digital transformation.
- Excellent strategic communication, negotiation, and presentation skills at the executive level.
- Long-term thinker who prioritizes Cloudflare’s future.
- Ability to define team goals and drive cross-department efficiency; remove blockers.
- Willingness to challenge the status quo and drive positive change.
- Proficiency with sales and BI tools (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, G Suite, MS Office, MEDDPICC).
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Ability to travel extensively as required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation May be adjusted depending on work location. For NY-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $266,000–$325,000.
- This role is eligible for incentive compensation under Cloudflare’s Sales Compensation Plan. The salary range includes on-target incentive compensation.
- Equity Eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.
