Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (AS) sector is looking for a Principal/Senior Principal Organization Effectiveness Consultant to join the AS Human Resources Organization Effectiveness (OE) team. This position is onsite in either Melbourne, FL or Palmdale, CA and reports to the Senior Director, Organization Effectiveness for AS.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to assess, develop and deliver outcome-based strategies and solutions in partnership with program managers and executives as the assigned OE/Talent Advisor to AS sector divisions and programs.
- Collaborate within and across HR; consult across business lines and take a data-driven approach to assessing talent development needs; develop employee-centric solutions; consult on organization design, culture initiatives, change management, team effectiveness, leadership effectiveness, L&D consultations, and employee coaching engagements.
- Partner with Division General Managers & Vice Presidents and HR Leaders to identify talent management priorities, goals and measures of success.
- Consult with stakeholders to assess current and future program management (P&L) professional and leadership development needs; design organization development and strategic plans to enhance performance.
- Provide design input using instructional design methodologies; implement programmatic learning activities (instructor-led, virtual, self-paced, gamification, etc.); facilitate training where needed.
- Design and implement professional and leadership development programs to increase productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Collect, analyze and evaluate data for development metrics; recommend actions based on results.
- Facilitate individual and team assessments to create development plans; engage in executive coaching.
- Advise on organizational design initiatives; partner with senior leaders to implement future-ready solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Manage multiple projects, mitigate risks, escalate as needed and report status to stakeholders.
- Develop change management plans and collaborate with communications to promote resource awareness and utilization.
- Create and deliver professional presentations and resources to inform and drive action across populations.
- Stay current with training and development research and apply concepts to practical solutions with positive business outcomes.
This position may be filled at a principal or senior principal level.
Basic Qualifications
Principal
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years OR Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience in learning and development, adult learning, training, organization development or HR in a large, complex environment
- Superior relationship building and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellence in facilitation; ability to lead strategic discussions with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
- Aptitude for learning and agility to adapt to shifting priorities
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Experience creating professional PowerPoint presentations and resources for stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable time
Senior Principal
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years OR Master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience in learning and development, adult learning, training, organization development or HR in a large, complex environment
- Superior relationship building and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellence in facilitation; ability to lead strategic discussions with senior leaders
- Aptitude for learning and agility to navigate ambiguous situations
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Experience creating professional PowerPoint presentations and resources for stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable time
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Learning & Development, or related discipline
- Certified executive coach
- Experience as an Organization Development professional designing and delivering development or leadership curriculums on large-scale OD/OE projects
- Professional certifications relevant to HR, OD, change management or related fields
- Current/active DoD Secret clearance
Salary Ranges
Melbourne, Florida
Principal: $78,700 - $118,100; Senior Principal: $98,100 - $147,100
Palmdale, California
Principal: $91,200 - $136,800; Senior Principal: $113,500 - $170,300
Salary Range: $78,700.00 - $147,100.00; Salary Range 2: $91,200.00 - $170,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, including scope and responsibilities and candidate experience, education, skills and market conditions. Depending on the position, overtime, shift differential and discretionary bonuses may apply. Long-Term Incentives may be available for VP or Director roles. Northrop Grumman provides benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company holidays and paid time off.
