The Position

Richards is seeking an experienced Value Stream Manager to lead the Jordan Valve product line and support growth of related product lines within RI. The role is based in Cincinnati and involves transforming the organization from functionally aligned groups to a fully aligned value stream team, driving delivery, quality, cost, and customer experience improvements. The VSM will partner with the Supply Chain Organization to deploy an integrated strategy and will spend significant time on the shop floor to lead, coach, and grow talent.

The VSM will:

  • Own top-line growth, delivery, operations, quality, and customer experience for the Jordan Valve line
  • Lead capital investments and site transformation projects to establish the value stream and future-state roadmap
  • Be responsible for achieving the annual operating plan and managing performance of direct reports
  • Create an energized, continuous-improvement work environment
  • Champion rapid problem solving and accountability across the value stream
  • Ensure value stream KPIs cover product safety, quality, delivery, sales, cost, and regulatory compliance
  • Recommend capital improvements and monitor industry technological changes for productivity gains
  • Establish and lead area 5S and safety programs
  • Participate in staffing decisions and recruiting
  • Establish a daily communication cadence to align short- and long-term objectives
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on business strategy, staffing optimization, and site management
  • Ensure teams are trained, resourced, and managed to meet strategic objectives
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance for machines and equipment, including preventive maintenance
  • Utilize VOC to evaluate and improve processes
  • Lead layout, flow, and operations strategy to deliver productivity improvements
Responsibilities
  • Transform a group into a dedicated value stream team focused on Jordan Valve line growth and performance
  • Lead capital and transformation initiatives to launch and evolve the value stream
  • Achieve operating plan results and manage performance of direct reports
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on customer value
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery, quality, cost, and safety
  • Develop and execute the value stream roadmap in partnership with Product Management and Sales
  • Direct planning, programming, and operations reporting lines and performance management
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business with 10+ years of experience
  • Proven ability to lead in a high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience with make/buy decisions and procurement strategies
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 or applicable quality system requirements
  • Solid financial knowledge and strong communication skills
  • Interpersonal effectiveness across all levels
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes, and tooling
  • Ability to lead and develop talent, conduct performance reviews, and coach
  • Experience leading in a Value Stream environment
