About The Role
Alpha Hire is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to join a leading company in the underground utility construction industry. The QC Manager will play a critical role in ensuring construction projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance through proactive inspections, process oversight, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance & Inspection
Conduct regular field inspections to ensure work meets specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
- Documentation & Compliance
Ensure compliance with regulatory codes, client specifications, and internal QA/QC protocols.
- Team Supervision & Training
Support continuous improvement through coaching, audits, and feedback loops.
- Coordination with Stakeholders
Interface with clients, inspectors, and regulatory agencies during audits and site visits.
- Process Improvement
Help develop long-term quality improvement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in quality control within the construction industry, preferably underground utilities.
- Strong understanding of materials testing, utility installation procedures, and QA/QC documentation.
- Knowledge of OSHA, local codes, and construction quality standards.
- Certifications such as CQM (Construction Quality Management) or ACI, NICET preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to accuracy, thoroughness, and quality.
- Leadership: Ability to lead inspections and guide teams toward compliance and excellence.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled at identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Communication: Clear, concise reporting and professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical Thinking: Capable of interpreting technical documents, test data, and regulatory standards.
