Position Summary
LGBT Network is seeking a full-time Development Manager. The Development Manager plays a key role in advancing the LGBT Network's mission by leading and growing the organization's individual giving program, monthly and annual membership efforts, and Pride Scholarship fundraising, and Planned Giving. This position manages a portfolio of 250-300 donor households, with a strong emphasis on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors at all giving levels to meet an annual non-event revenue goal of $250,000.
The Development Manager works collaboratively across departments, ensures timely donor communications and data management in Salesforce, and plays an essential role in advancing the culture of philanthropy within the LGBT Network community.

The Development Manager works collaboratively across departments, ensures timely donor communications and data management in Salesforce, and plays an essential role in advancing the culture of philanthropy within the LGBT Network community.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Individual Giving, Monthly Membership & Pride Scholarships
- Manage a portfolio of 250-300 donor households annually to grow the base of individual supporters.
- Fundraise a minimum of $250,000 in the first year through non-event individual contributions, with a focus on:
- Monthly membership giving
- Annual gifts at $1,500+
- Gifts designated to Pride Scholarships and youth empowerment
- Conduct a minimum of ten (10) face-to-face solicitations each month to meet fundraising targets.
- Re-engage lapsed donors and build tailored strategies to renew their support.
- Execute ongoing cultivation and stewardship activities, including:
- Personalized phone calls and emails
- One-on-one meetings and donor updates
- Acknowledgment letters and recognition opportunities
- Promote and grow participation in the LGBT Network's Legacy Program by engaging long-time and loyal supporters in planned giving conversations.
- Identify and qualify prospects from within the donor base who may be appropriate for estate-based giving.
- Develop marketing and recognition strategies to promote the Legacy Program, including legacy donor spotlights, print and digital materials, and annual impact features.
- Maintain records of planned giving conversations, intentions, and documentation in Salesforce.
- Steward legacy donors and prospects through personalized follow-up, impact reporting, and exclusive appreciation events or communications.
- Track and report on fundraising metrics related to individual giving, corporate support, and memberships in Salesforce, with the support of the Development Coordinator.
- Use Salesforce to manage donor data and communications.
- Work closely with the Development Coordinator to ensure thank you phone calls, emails, and letters are sent within organization timelines.
- Participate in weekly strategy and follow-up meetings with the CEO and Chief Development Officer.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional fundraising experience, with a proven track record of success in individual giving, donor cultivation, and solicitation.
- Experience securing annual gifts up to $10,000
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Demonstrated experience managing a donor portfolio and meeting or exceeding annual fundraising goals, particularly through non-event-based contributions.
- Strong knowledge of monthly giving programs, annual fund development, and donor stewardship strategies.
- Experience or familiarity with planned giving concepts and engaging donors in legacy giving conversations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build authentic relationships with donors and community stakeholders.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, preferably Salesforce or a similar donor database, including data entry, reporting, and donor segmentation.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and donor communications simultaneously.
- Comfortable conducting in-person and virtual solicitations and donor meetings on a regular basis.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating across teams in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including donor correspondence, proposals, and impact reporting.
- Commitment to and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as the mission and values of the LGBT Network.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends for donor meetings, special events, or community outreach as needed.
