The IT Business Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between IT and the business by using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements, and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders. This position requires a blend of business acumen and technical expertise to ensure that IT projects meet organizational goals and add value to the business. Accountabilities And Responsibilities Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications for IT projects. Analyze and document current business processes, identify areas for improvement, and work with IT teams to implement changes. Work closely with developers and system architects to design IT solutions that meet business requirements and align with the organization's goals. Assist in managing IT projects, including tracking progress, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring timely delivery. Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and provide insights into business operations. Develop test cases, perform system testing, and ensure that IT solutions are properly implemented and functioning as intended. Regularly communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes, ensuring a smooth transition and adoption. Create and maintain detailed documentation of business requirements, processes, and IT systems.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree or higher in a related field. Industry Experience: Previous experience in the genealogy or consumer genetic testing industry is a significant advantage. Familiarity with FamilyTreeDNA's unique products and user base is highly valued. Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice-versa. Critical Thinking: A natural analytical and problem-solving mindset. Stakeholder Management: The ability to work closely with various stakeholders, including customers, product managers, developers, and business leaders, to determine acceptable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Jira, Power BI, and Miro Previous experience or certification as a business analyst or in a similar role. 2+ years of experience with Gene by Genes consumer products, tools, and features.
