We are seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to lead the creation of high-quality instructional courses and videos for our Licensees, managing the end-to-end instructional design process to ensure effective, engaging, and compliant training that drives user success. About The Role

As a Senior Instructional Designer within the Training team, you will own the design, development, and management of instructional courses and videos for Metrcs Licensees, enabling them to effectively use our web and mobile apps and data products in a highly regulated environment. Reporting to the Director of Training, you will manage the entire instructional design process, from needs analysis to content delivery, while collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Customer Success, Sales) to ensure training aligns with product functionality and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for a seasoned instructional design professional with a proven track record in creating impactful training content for SaaS platforms, ready to lead and deliver in a fast-paced, compliance-driven setting. Key Responsibilities

Instructional Design Strategy: Define and execute a comprehensive instructional design strategy for Metrcs Licensees, ensuring training content aligns with product features, user needs, and cannabis industry regulations. Needs Assessments: Conduct needs assessments with Licensees (state regulators, cannabis businesses) and internal stakeholders (Product, Customer Success) to identify training gaps and objectives. Content Development and Delivery: Develop scalable, modular training programs, including e-learning courses, videos, and documentation, to support diverse user roles and learning preferences. End-to-End Process Management: Oversee the entire instructional design process, from analysis and design to development, implementation, and evaluation (e.g., ADDIE or SAM models). Standards and Compliance: Establish and maintain standards for training content, ensuring consistency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with Metrcs brand and product updates. Evaluation and Improvement: Evaluate training effectiveness using metrics (e.g., learner feedback, completion rates, performance outcomes) to drive continuous improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers and the Training team to ensure training content reflects the latest features of the Metrc web and mobile apps and data products; collaborate with Customer Success and Sales to align training programs with Licensee onboarding and adoption goals; work with compliance teams to ensure all training materials meet cannabis industry regulations, including data privacy and auditability standards. Stakeholder Engagement: Present training strategies and outcomes to internal stakeholders and Licensees, securing buy-in and ensuring alignment with business and user needs; communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts in clear, user-friendly training content for diverse Licensee audiences across U.S. jurisdictions. Qualifications

Experience in the cannabis industry or other highly regulated sectors, with knowledge of compliance-driven training design. Familiarity with designing training for complex workflows, such as regulatory reporting or SaaS platform usage, in web and mobile environments. Background in localization of training content for diverse user bases across multiple jurisdictions. Certifications such as CPLP, Articulate 360 Certification, or equivalent is preferred. Interest in emerging technologies like AI-driven training or interactive learning solutions. Education

Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field; Masters degree preferred. Travel

This position will require frequent travel, approximately 15% of work time, to engage with Licensees and support training initiatives. Physical Demands and Work Environment
