Responsibilities
Managing traffic tasks by utilizing communication, initiative, and follow through skills. Leveraging engineering knowledge and CADD technology to develop plans and documents for transportation projects that meet project goals and adhere to applicable design standards. Primary work areas may include signing, pavement marking, work zone traffic control, signal design, and traffic operations modeling. Mentoring junior team members and overseeing work of others in the Traffic group, including design calculations, plan development, and agency design requirements. Evolving innovation, best practices, and efficiency within the Traffic group and across Isthmus. Evidencing continued commitment to individual, company, and industry improvement. Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in Civil Engineering field or a closely related field. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Minnesota, or ability to obtain the same within six months. Two or more years of experience in traffic engineering (Four or more years of transportation design experience preferred). Experience with MnDOT design and plan preparation a plus. Experience with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or Civil 3D; SignCAD; and traffic modeling software. Experience with roadway lighting design and analysis a plus. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following skills
Ability to communicate effectively. Strong time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in leveraging CADD as an aid to quality design and efficient plan production. Ability to maintain productivity in an autonomous environment. Positive team-focused attitude. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000 / year for a 40-hour base work week. Compensation will be based upon experience, education, skill level, and other factors.
