The Dean will develop productive working relationships with institutional administration, faculty, students, industry, and community partners, building a strong sense of community within and beyond the College and advancing the common vision and high aspirations for COE. Responsibilities
Vision and Planning: create a vision and agenda for COE that aligns with the University mission, values, and priorities. Communications: lead internal and external communication to support transparency, shared direction, and showcase COE accomplishments. Financial Planning and Strategy: oversee budget planning and management; invest and grow financial resources in alignment with University priorities. Departmental Administration: appoint and mentor academic unit and college leaders, administrative staff, and periodically review performance with the Provost. Personnel: lead recruitment and retention of mission-driven faculty and staff; develop and implement faculty evaluation protocols; promote mentoring and development opportunities. Academic Program and Center Leadership: develop and enhance centers and programs that support student momentum, postgraduate success, pedagogy, innovation, cost-effectiveness, and accreditation; collaborate across divisions to drive recruitment and retention. Research and Public Service Leadership: support a vibrant research and public service ecosystem; encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and external funding; disseminate findings to increase impact. Fundraising and Outreach: establish a foundation for sustainable fundraising; represent the College in various boards and organizations; engage in external partnerships to increase resources and visibility. College Governance: support internal governance structures; address faculty concerns; promote academic freedom and responsibility. Qualifications
