Overview
Associate Director of Development - Bailey College of Science and Mathematics at
California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) This role will cultivate and solicit alumni, parents, friends, employers, foundations and corporations for contributions within the Bailey College of Science and Mathematics (BCSM). The incumbent will participate in a comprehensive college-based development program, identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts; understand and comply with policies and best practices established by University Development; and support fundraising initiatives by preparing academic leaders to participate in development activities and prospect appointments. The Associate Director of Development reports to the Bailey College Executive Director of Development and collaborates with University Development and Alumni Engagement. This role involves participation in short and long-term development initiatives across the college and in fundraising and public relations campaigns aligned with the college's mission and vision. Key Qualifications
Growing knowledge and experience in fundraising, marketing, planned giving, or related professional field, preferably in a university or fast-paced environment. Under the direction of the Bailey College Executive Director of Development, ability to develop and cultivate major gift donor contacts. Knowledge of prospect management systems, fiscal administration, and volunteer development including alumni relations and prospect management systems. Ability to perform record keeping with principles of accounting and budgeting. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple assignments and meet deadlines; ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures; ability to analyze information and present solutions. Sound judgment, discretion, tact, initiative; ability to represent Cal Poly positively on campus and externally. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with diverse constituencies with diplomacy and professionalism. Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in development, fundraising, donor relations, marketing, or related field, with at least one year of direct fundraising experience or transferable skills. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Salary and Benefits
The anticipated hiring range for this role is
$73,500 - $94,500
per year. Note that the offer is based on the candidates background and relevant years of experience.
