Production Planner/Buyer
Purpose of the Role: The Production Planner/Buyer reports to the Materials Manager and is responsible for supporting the planning, purchasing, and management of inventory and consumables for a specific focus factory and facilitates scheduling, work order creation, and release to meet customer requirements. Hands on experience in a manufacturing environment is a must. Duties and Responsibilities: Performs purchasing/buyer function that includes analysis of customer demand, sales forecasts, and historical material usage to develop and execute build to order and build to forecast plans. Identify, develop, and manage effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers of materials and services to meet the established cost, quality, and delivery targets. Support and participate in the system to evaluate, monitor, and report supplier scorecard performance. Participates in MRB and CAR meetings to resolve quality issues working with both internal and external resources. Participates in the processes for ensuring the accuracy of inventory counts. Supporting the planning and scheduling of workflow for assigned operations according to routing sequences and lead time. Schedules, expedites, and coordinates the delivery and movement of critical material, including material transfers and material deviation releases. Work with Infor/Syteline to produce accurate schedules for assigned product lines. Ensure the generation of pick lists, travelers, and other paperwork as necessary. Participate in Lean activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving. Experience and Requirements: BS degree in business, management, or other related discipline preferred. Equivalent professional experience accepted. Experience in production control planning in an ERP environment. Infor/Syteline Preferred. Experience working in a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Power Point, Excel, and Word software programs. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills. Capacity Planning by departments and machines.
