Cotality is seeking a Principal Full Stack Java, Software Engineer for a hybrid - remote role (MUST be able to travel to Irving, TX) on an industry initiative project. The team is designing the application from the ground up with a focus on innovation, cutting edge advancements, and collaboration. The role involves developing microservice architecture, leveraging Kafka to connect various microservices and integrating with 3rd party software providers via a gateway solution. Contribute to the next generation of developer practices as part of the core team and partner with business stakeholders to define scope, sizing, and priorities. Engage in pair programming and code reviews; apply Test Driven Development to enable continuous integration. Collaborate on technical direction for product, design, and architectural decisions. Learn from others and share knowledge to improve the teams capabilities. Diagnose and resolve production incidents; improve tests, code, and systems to prevent recurrence. Qualifications
Job Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of experience developing applications using modern object-oriented programming languages. Strong understanding of architectural standards and software development methodologies. Expertise in Java/Spring Boot; exposure to Angular frontend framework. Proficient with Spring libraries and Kafka streaming platform. Proficient in troubleshooting using ELK tools. Experience with databases and big data technologies (PostgreSQL, BigQuery). Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities; strong organizational and time-management abilities. Nice to Haves Groovy, Gradle, Kafka, Terraform, ElasticSearch, Jenkins, Docker, Anthos. Test Driven Development (TDD) experience. Full-stack development experience with modern SPA frameworks. Full-stack micro-frontend development experience. Hands-on experience with Cloud Platforms (GCP). Designing and implementing large-scale event-driven architectures (Kafka). Familiarity with design patterns. CI/CD pipeline creation and modification. Advanced understanding of foundational architecture. Domain-specific experience in Real Estate, Insurance, Mortgage, or Residential Tax is a plus. Customer-oriented mindset: meets commitments, collaborates with the team, responds timely, and is willing to help.
