Overview
Aspirus Health, a non-profit, community-directed health system serving Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigans Upper Peninsula, seeks a visionary leader to oversee nursing education and professional development across the integrated healthcare system. The Director, System Nursing Education & Professional Development will align education and development initiatives for nursing professionals in acute, ambulatory, home health, and hospice settings. The role will lead programs to enhance orientation, onboarding, competency assessment, and continuing education. A data-driven approach will be used to foster evidence-based practice, optimize care delivery, improve patient outcomes, and support staff retention. The Director will manage a team of nursing professional development coordinators and clinical educators, serving as a liaison to academic institutions and organizational stakeholders to promote certification and professional growth opportunities. The role tracks outcomes to demonstrate value and align education initiatives with Aspirus Healths strategic goals. This is an on-site role located at Aspirus headquarters in Wausau, WI. Oversee nursing education and professional development across the system. Lead programs for orientation, onboarding, competency assessment, and continuing education. Collaborate with nursing leadership, quality improvement, and academic partners to promote evidence-based practice and optimize care delivery, patient outcomes, and staff retention. Manage a team of nursing professional development coordinators and clinical educators. Ensure programs are designed using adult learning principles and innovative strategies. Track outcomes to demonstrate value and align initiatives with organizational strategic goals. Qualifications
Bachelors and masters degrees in nursing required; masters in nursing education and/or DNP preferred. CNE and/or NPD-BC certifications highly desired. Minimum of five years direct clinical care experience and three years as a nursing educator or nursing professional development coordinator. Minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience in education within an integrated health system. Employment type
