About Our Client Join a top-tier construction management firm delivering high-impact commercial, residential, and institutional projects valued from $50M-$200M+. With a strong pipeline of multifamily work in the Arlington/Alexandria area, they're seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale builds and grow alongside a collaborative, hands-on team.
Job Description The Advanced APM Role - Multifamily Construction | NoVA will be responsible for:
Assisting the Project Manager in planning and executing all phases of construction projects
Preparing and maintaining documentation, including budgets, schedules, and contracts
Communicating with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and clients to ensure alignment
Conducting regular site visits to monitor safety, quality, and schedule progress
Tracking and managing budgets, expenses, and financial reporting
Coordinating procurement and ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment
Updating project schedules using tools like Procore and Microsoft Project
Organizing and participating in project meetings and following up on action items
Managing change orders, RFIs, and submittals throughout the construction process
Enforcing safety regulations and ensuring compliance with codes and company policies
Documenting daily progress, milestones, and field updates for internal and client reporting
Supporting field teams and resolving on-site issues in collaboration with the Superintendent
Performing administrative tasks such as document control, filing, and data entry

The Successful Applicant The Advanced APM Role - Multifamily Construction | NoVA will have:
5+ years of experience supporting or managing construction projects
A strong understanding of new construction methods, practices, and sequencing
Prior exposure to multifamily residential projects (preferred)
The ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Proficiency with project management tools like Procore, Microsoft Project, or Bluebeam
Excellent communication skills for working with field teams, subs, vendors, and clients
Strong time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting
A working knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and safety standards
A valid driver\'s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed
A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
