Our Investors: Spark Capital, Canaan, Reid Hoffman, Breyer Capital, and other notable angels and firms. Note: we charge fees for transfers on fixed exchange rate corridors. Role Join our legal team of 8 lawyers as the Lead Legal Counsel for APAC, reporting to the Head of Legal. You will own all legal matters in the APAC region and drive initiatives including market expansion, product launches, negotiating high-value contracts, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with multiple business functions, translate complex legal issues for non-legal audiences, and balance legal and business priorities. You are a self-starter who thrives on stepping outside your comfort zone to drive business growth. Responsibilities
Lead all legal and regulatory aspects of APAC market expansion (licensing applications, acquisitions, etc.). Advise on, develop, and sustain Taptap Send’s legal and regulatory framework; support product launches in the region. Partner cross-functionally to address complex legal and regulatory challenges while ensuring ongoing compliance. Draft, review, and negotiate key commercial agreements with partners. Collaborate with the broader legal team to assess risks and craft solutions aligned with business objectives. Identify risks and work with stakeholders to create actionable strategies for regulatory or licensing matters. Oversee regulatory audits or examinations within the APAC region. Assist with other APAC legal work as needed. Requirements
You are a qualified lawyer with approximately 5–10 years of practising experience. You have in-house experience, ideally in a startup/scale-up, handling commercial and regulatory matters. You have emerging markets experience, ideally in fintech. You have experience engaging with external stakeholders, such as regulators. You have experience advising on new product or market launches. You are eager to learn and hands-on. You are based in Dubai and willing to travel as required. Also you are
