General Job Description Director of Purchasing directs the procurement and purchasing operations and strategy to provide the material and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Evaluates and develops strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to change in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Supervises Purchasing Managers or Supervisors Responsibilities

Oversee all procurement support operations including purchasing, subcontracting, project vendor management support, tool cribs, fabrication shops, facility management, capital expenditures, and other business unit costs. Develop new process improvements to increase efficiency and improve team engagement. Maintain signature authority for project support purchase orders, subcontracts, business unit or CapEx contracts. Review subcontracting of non-union requests, bond reviews, and redline reviews/negotiations. Maintain relationships with key staff at major suppliers in all markets. Collaborate with Business Unit Managers to align ACCO’s needs with Purchasing processes and results. Maintain productivity KPIs for Project Buyers to ensure timely handling of requests. Hold regular meetings with direct reports to review open problems, assess cost implications, and direct strategy with ethical supplier practices and minimizing ACCO’s loss from supplier actions. Prepare quarterly reports for VP-level ACCO leaders detailing open problems, issues, cost impacts, and recovery projections. Manage delays mitigation, proper supplier notification of cost responsibilities, and resolution of supplier billing disputes. Maintain understanding of material demands and commodity markets to develop the best cost positions possible. Qualifications

Ability to motivate and lead a diverse and complex team. Demonstrates high ethical standards. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Advanced dispute resolution and negotiation skills. Understanding of Supply Chain Management and multi-tier supply chain complexities. Basic understanding of subcontracting including terms like insurance, indemnity, and payment. Track record of process and project management and evaluation. Proven ability to foster internal and external relationships. Proven ability to advocate and persevere on behalf of the organization. 10+ years of experience leading purchasing initiatives. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or related field. ACCO Competencies

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 20 pounds. Close and distance vision; ability to stand, use hands, reach, talk, hear. Walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed for site duties. Reach above shoulder height to access storage. Hours This is an exempt position. Workdays are Monday through Friday, typically 7:00 am – 5:00 pm with overtime as needed. Travel 15 - 20% of the time to and from the primary office to regional branch offices. Compensation $133,000 - $171,500 annually. Actual compensation determined by qualifications, experience, and location.
