Overview

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Environmental Permitting Project Manager to support and grow our expanding Western U.S. practice, with a focus on power and energy sectors. The role involves environmental permitting document preparation (including technical reports, NEPA documents, and permit applications) and managing energy projects regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The successful candidate will contribute to client development and project delivery within a collaborative, hybrid work environment with travel up to 10%. Responsibilities Manage the life cycle of environmental permitting projects, including scope and cost development, budgets, schedules, and risk management. Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams; provide senior review of client deliverables. Develop permitting strategies and guidance for clients and internal teams; lead technical delivery of projects. Support and/or manage growth of client relationships in conjunction with business development and account leaders; lead pursuits and proposal opportunities, including scope and cost development. Collaborate with a diverse team and balance multiple priorities in a flexible work environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related environmental discipline. Minimum 10 years total experience in the environmental consulting industry; equivalent experience with environmental agencies and commercial entities may be considered. At least 4 years of experience managing environmental permitting projects, leading technical teams, and delivering high-quality work products on schedule and within budget. Experience leading project pursuits, with direct client communication and development of project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates (at least 4 years). Experience coordinating with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies in the Western U.S. for power and energy projects; familiarity with USFS, USACE, BLM, USFWS, and state agencies. FERC experience including Blanket Prior Notice and Section 7 applications, and preparation of Environmental Reports.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in planning, Geography, Environmental Management, or a related field. Experience supporting and/or managing client development, including identifying opportunities and maintaining client relationships. FERC and local permitting experience in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and/or Nevada.
