Overview
University Lands is seeking a contract Application Developer to join our solutions team. The developer will collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and technical staff to design, build, and deliver high-quality applications within a modular, domain-driven architecture. This role involves both greenfield development and modernization of legacy systems. Candidates with experience or interest in Machine Learning/AI service development will have opportunities to contribute to innovative projects. Key Responsibilities
Design and develop new applications and features. Maintain and enhance legacy applications. Collaborate with business and technical teams to align solutions with requirements. Perform testing, debugging, and performance tuning. Deliver high-quality code adhering to established standards, patterns, and best practices. Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience. Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines. Strong understanding of web application architecture, SOLID principles, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Domain-Driven Design (DDD). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications
Interest or experience in Machine Learning / AI development, including: Integrating large language model (LLM)-based solutions for document analysis, search, or automation. Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, or retrieval-augmented generation techniques. Experience in Oil & Gas or land administration industries. Masters degree in Computer Science or related field. Technical Environment
Architecture: Modular Monolith, Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design. Frameworks: .NET 8, ASP.NET Core MVC, MediatR, Ardalis Specifications. Frontend: Angular 18+ with Bootstrap 4 or 5. Database: SQL Server 2019+ (including JSON and graph features). Hosting: On-premises IIS and SQL Server. Other Tools: Serilog structured logging, Power BI integration, Gulp asset pipeline.
