Computer Engineer

Micron Technology's Computer Engineering team supports semiconductor design through the development and maintenance of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and flows. The team collaborates closely with design and process engineers to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable solutions for CMOS integrated circuit development. As a Computer Engineer, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on supporting and enhancing EDA tools and design flows. This role involves evaluating, developing, and debugging both in-house and commercial software used in the design, layout, and verification of semiconductor devices. You'll contribute to innovation in tool development and provide training and support to end-users across engineering teams. Responsibilities include: Develop tools, flows, and methodologies to improve memory design efficiency and reliability Provide training, documentation, and support for new tools and methods Collaborate with design and process teams to ensure tool integration and usability Evaluate and debug EDA tools used for CMOS design, layout, and verification Contribute to continuous improvement of design automation infrastructure Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science (with circuits/VLSI coursework), or a related field Strong programming fundamentals Effective communication and problem-solving skills Experience with Unix and shell scripting Proficiency in SKILL and Python preferred; experience in C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, Perl, or Lisp will be considered Preferred qualifications include: Demonstrated experience in VLSI circuit design and software development Familiarity with IC design CAD tools (schematics, layouts, simulation, verification) Understanding of CMOS implementation including area, speed, and power tradeoffs Micron is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
