Overview As a member of the Vice President of Student Development’s leadership team, the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success (AVPEM) manages all aspects of the UCNJ enrollment and student success services and initiatives as indicated by the College’s strategic enrollment management plan (SEM); driving the College’s efforts that lead students to completion, career placement, and upward social and economic mobility. The position provides leadership for the following sub-division units: Office of Admissions, Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF), Student Success Initiatives, One Stop and Advising, Career and Transfer Services (ACT), and the Office of Student Accounts. Design, implement, supervise, and evaluate all aspects of the College’s Strategic Enrollment Management plan (SEM) and Student Success initiatives in compliance with federal, state and institutional policies.

Lead the planning, budget development, budget management, and personnel evaluation for the Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS) area; inclusive of the hiring, training, and evaluation of all EMSS leadership and staff.

Lead on-time graduation initiatives through implementation of scalable activities, coordinates first-time, full-time cohorts and the non-cohort for intrusive advisement initiatives to improve on-time degree completion.

Create robust post-completion initiatives that lead to increased bachelor degree attainment and careers that elevate UCNJ students’ social and economic mobility.

Develop and implement all onboarding and student success activities including but not limited to: New Student Orientation (NSO), Open House, and First Year Experience.

Lead the development of new student recruitment and student success plans, in addition to formulating K-12 partnerships that increase the readiness of incoming students and supports their early college experience and transition to UCNJ.

Collaborate across campus, on data related tasks, including but not limited to dashboard creation and forecasting utilizing an analytical, empirical, and data-informed method to problem solving and decision-making that promotes a culture of evidence.

Apply statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling to drive growth and inform UCNJ student success goals.

Guide the campus-wide utilization of the College’s CRM / student success platform, EAB Navigate, designed to identify students experiencing difficulty, and connect them with appropriate resources.

Coordinates the preparation of College, State and federal reports in collaboration with appropriate staff and offices.

Creates a high-performance culture by setting clear objectives and expectations; targets and analyzes team member’s accountability and gives appropriate feedback, including actively managing poor performers.

Serves on College Governance Committees representing Student Development.

Serves as point of contact in the absence of the VPSD.

Assist the VPSD with special projects, strategic planning, and data analysis.

Represents the college at regional, state and national conferences and / or meetings.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Development, and Student Personnel or related programs from an accredited institution required.

Doctoral degree in higher education leadership, management, or academic field from an accredited institution preferred.

Experience

A minimum of five years of full-time, college level supervisory experience in student affairs or student services in a higher education setting.

Experience in strategic enrollment management planning, retention and completion planning, policy development, and outcome / needs assessment.

Demonstrable experience with data mining, analysis, and reporting for decision-making.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior / residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.

Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

Some travel required.

Salary $140,000-$160,000
