Overview We’re seeking a Senior Server Automation Engineer to lead infrastructure automation efforts across a complex hybrid enterprise environment. You’ll take ownership of patching, application packaging, OS deployments, and automation pipelines spanning on-prem and Azure infrastructure. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives on eliminating manual processes and building scalable, automated solutions in a global IT setting.

Design, build, and maintain automated Windows Server deployment processes using tools like SCCM, Packer, and Ansible. Develop and refine patching strategies, pre/post-deployment scripts, and application packaging routines across a Windows server environment. Lead initiatives to automate traditionally manual operational tasks, especially those related to server provisioning, patch compliance, and software rollouts. Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure automation is consistent across on-prem and Azure. Maintain and enhance Infrastructure as Code solutions and configuration management workflows. Monitor patching compliance and proactively resolve issues that impact server health or deployment pipelines. Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor in Windows automation, with a strong emphasis on scripting and toolchain integration. Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in enterprise IT environments managing
Windows Server infrastructure
at scale. Strong expertise with Microsoft
SCCM/MECM
for OS deployments, patching, and software distribution. Experience with
Azure
infrastructure services and hybrid-cloud deployment strategies. Hands-on experience with
Ansible
for configuration management and
Packer
for image creation. Proven history of automating pre/post deployment actions, patching tasks, and server provisioning workflows. Strong
PowerShell
scripting skills for automation, orchestration, and system management. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure monitoring tools. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial or other regulated industries with a strong focus on compliance and security. Familiarity with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools . Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate). Bonus Experience with Azure Local (formerly Azure Stack HCI or Azure Stack Hub), Linux Automation, Containers & Kubernetes Seniority level
