US-CA-Carlsbad Job Description The Director of Engineering will serve as a key member of the executive team and report to the Resort Manager. This role ensures that the resort and all Engineering functions are maintained in excellent condition at all times. The DOE will supervise a team of Engineering professionals, including painters, mechanical engineers, preventative maintenance technicians, room-call specialists and others. The DOE will provide training and mentoring, coaching associates to meet Omni’s guest service standards and uphold technical excellence. The DOE will manage Capital Improvement projects and renovations to maximize guest satisfaction. The DOE must be a technical expert capable of diagnosing problems, guiding and mentoring other engineers, and will work closely with the building’s condo association to meet their needs. Responsibilities

Coordinate and operate, in an economical, legal and safe manner, all R&M and utility expenses. Manage BirchStreet for all R&M expenses; participate in month-end financial processes and forecasting. Inspect physical plant and equipment; supervise maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. Oversee comprehensive maintenance programs for public spaces, guestrooms and equipment; manage work requests and preventive maintenance in Synergy. Coordinate with other departments to maintain general conditions and ensure safety, health standards and legal requirements per hotel policy. Recruit, interview, hire, train and discipline engineering associates in coordination with the Director of Associate Services. Assist in emergency situations as central communications center for the hotel. Recommend capital budget projects, obtain bids, and oversee contractors; manage permits and licenses as required. Ensure timely and accurate completion of work by external vendors and contractors. Maintain the resort’s special permits and licenses as required by authorities. Control schedules, staffing, and payroll for the Engineering team; maintain personnel, utility and engineering records. Follow all safety, security, policies and procedures; report accidents and unsafe conditions; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure adherence to quality standards; identify and implement improvements for efficiency, productivity, safety and cost-savings. Schedule and facilitate monthly department meetings; coach and counsel associates and conduct performance evaluations. Attend all company-required training; champion Omni culture (Power of One/Power of Engagement). Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Expert knowledge in boilers, pumps, HVAC, electrical systems, motors, computerized control systems, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, domestic water systems and guest room A/C; ability to diagnose and recommend changes. Minimum of seven years of hotel management experience in a luxury hotel/resort environment. College degree in business, hotel & restaurant management or equivalent preferred. Bi-lingual preferred. Proven results-oriented management skills with mentoring and team leadership experience. Ability to budget, forecast productivity and direct expenses with strong financial acumen. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with vendors and the community. Excellent technical skills; detail-oriented, organized and punctual. Ability to work under pressure and independently or with a team. Flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays. Physical Demands Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel; stand, walk, sit; move, bend, lift and carry up to 50 pounds; may require extended standing or walking; vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception. Pay Range:
