$138,000.00 to $172,500.00
and may vary if outside this location. Base salaries are determined during the interview process by assessing a candidate's experience, skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position. Position Summary Based on the long-term commercial sequence of our brands and run rates of our distilleries, manage contract distillation and aged liquid sales and acquisitions to optimize inventory, cash, and profit. Ensure end-to-end quality of delivery (sampling, product, transportation, invoicing, and relationships) of whiskey from site to customer. Develop a clear, measurable plan against the organization's vision for bulk sales and contract distillation across North American whiskey sites (Canada and US). Drive development, maintenance, and communication of the business of contract distillation and bulk aged whiskey, including barrel procurement. Build and develop a network of customers and key contacts through industry knowledge and experience. Foster strong relationships within the Pernod network with site leads, legal, finance, and external partners to lead cross-functional communication and requirements in conjunction with site capabilities and commercial plans. In collaboration with the VP of American Whiskey Operations, legal, operations personnel, and financial counterparts, formalize and implement processes including bulk sale agreements, contract distillation agreements, aging warehouse agreements, blending, sampling, and other service agreements as required. Provide capacity planning input to site planners and communicate with customers and operations personnel. Manage customer relationships and communications; attend trade/industry events; follow up on leads; perform facility tours and customer handling; coordinate bulk shipping and barrel handling based on customer needs; support procurement and pricing for customer-related needs. Develop the bulk aged and contract distillation business for North American whiskeys amidst challenging environments, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and leadership as a role model. Serve as a brand ambassador to Pernod Ricard's distillation and warehousing sites, inspiring teams with shared purpose and accountability for delivering performance. Key Responsibilities Identify, build, and curate the Bulk Aged & Contract Distillation plan across Canadian and US whiskeys, including: Develop business targets from industry knowledge and competitive awareness Develop business strategy with risk and trend analysis Create action plans to drive and improve KPIs Contribute to production strategy evolution in response to market needs and group strategy Leverage relationships to build customer connections (cold calls, trade shows, mutual contacts, LinkedIn) and use trade-related tools Demonstrate leadership and customer service in becoming the supplier of choice for bulk aged liquid and related services Extensive knowledge of the North American whiskey industry, including key players, history, and distillation/blending/aging processes Operations and contract management experience including: Facilities processes: milling, cooking, fermentation, distillation, barrel filling, warehousing, finishing, blending, bulk shipping New and used barrel market; understand site processes and coordinate with operations to meet customer needs Lead cross-functional decision-making to meet contractual obligations and revenue/profit goals End-to-end contract development: negotiation, execution, sampling and shipment Communication, documentation, invoicing, and inventory management for bulk liquids Legal awareness and alcohol compliance; administrative management including transfers, invoices, COAs, production details, analytical data Coordinate samples for customers and retain samples; ensure excise and regulatory compliance and GMP documentation Lead financial management: monitor revenue, costs, and profitability for bulk sales and distillation contracts Maintain safety culture and practices for employees, contractors, and visitors Logistics coordination for bulk shipments and timely delivery Pricing, negotiation, and market research to stay informed on trends and offerings Sales strategy development and execution to maximize bulk sales and maintain customer relationships Required Skills & Abilities
Operations experience in distillation (minimum 3 years; ideally 10 years in spirits) Excellent written and verbal communication, including virtual and in-person Proven negotiation skills Willingness to travel; availability for nights and weekends as needed Strong organizational and planning skills; meticulous attention to detail Strong teamwork and cross-functional communication Knowledge and passion for bourbon Financial and analytical acumen to support operational decisions Ability to foster strategic working relationships and deliver world-class customer service Leadership to guide teams through change and promote continuous improvement Ability to lead and coach teams handling barrel procurement and bulk sales support/customer service Education
