Overview

Our client is a world leader in building world class machines that impact the lives of billions of people. We are looking for a First Line Support Production Engineer in the Production Engineering department. You will provide rapid response to resolve engineering-related disturbance notices and execute engineering steps in the production operator dashboard (POD) to support output. This role demands a proactive, innovative mindset and close collaboration with cross-sector teams. Base pay range

$55,000.00/yr - $62,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities

Spend ~75% of time in a cleanroom, troubleshooting mechanical assembly, glass-to-metal bonding, flow/thermal issues, module testing, and tooling/test stand challenges. Develop OCAPs, Fishbones, and troubleshooting guidelines; support diagnostics qualification for production staff. Evaluate and disposition failed parts, propose solutions, and support root cause analysis (DOA). Contribute to manufacturing procedures, technical work instructions, and design/documentation reviews for diagnostics. Support cycle time/labor hours roadmaps, PFMEA, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Read and interpret optical, mechanical, and electrical drawings; utilize MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python as needed. Provide occasional weekend coverage and work in a cleanroom environment (full gowning, ISO 9000/14000 standards). Work Schedule

Compressed Work Week (CWW): CWW D1: 6am6pm, SundayTuesday, every other Wednesday. CWW D2: 6am6pm, ThursdaySaturday, every other Wednesday. Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. 1-2 years experience in an engineering environment, preferably in high-tech production. Working knowledge with Opto-mechanics/mechanical design Working experience with epoxy (adhesives) application in opto-mechanical designs Experience with mechanical tooling, test equipment Knowledge of detectors, electro-optical devices and opto-mechanical constructions Experienced working in a production setting with high tech products. Knowledge with mechanical assembly and alignment with opto mechanics Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, statistical process control, and FMEA (preferred). Experience with NX, Teamcenter, SAP, optical/wave optics, or geometric optics is a plus. Skills

Strong problem-solving, ownership, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with multidisciplinary groups, including senior leadership. Excellent written and oral communication for effective team and management interaction. Focus on quality, continuous improvement, and meeting deadlines. Comfortable working in a cleanroom with exposure to lasers, chemicals, strong magnetic fields, high voltage/currents, and physical demands (lifting up to 20 lbs, close vision, etc.). Seniority level
