Overview
Job Title: Mainframe Programmer Job Location: 100% REMOTE Duration: 12 Months Contract with possibility to extension Description
Must have at least 3 years experience processing batch payments through feeder systems. Programmer must possess experience maintaining overnight batches to process vouchers for payment and knowledge of converting data into various financial reports. Responsibilities
IBM Mainframe z/OS Systems Programming: Install configure maintain and perform system software and/or cumulative Program Temporary Fix packages to Supported Server Standard Products including the operating system and operating system utilities. SMP/E work supporting the required products. Legacy Windows Server Support Update and maintain inhouse developed BUGS/PTD/PTO(CLIST/ISPF) documentation system. With LADWP assistance establish a test and implementation plan before each operating system version upgrade. Schedule and coordinate operating system testing and implementation. Communicate to LADWP ITS staff via the change management process any installation prerequisites (for example additional disk space and memory) and any post install procedures that need to be followed after the installation is completed. Submit IBM SCRT reports monthly to IBM as needed. Recommend to ITS Staff software order for IBM products and/or ISV products. Implement product key codes for ISV software. Provide DR support of z/OS software and maintain technical procedures and documentation. Provide oncall resources to diagnose z/OS Systems support issues during off hours. CICS subsystem Troubleshoot applications. Programming support COBOL PL/I RPG FOCUS SAS Do reverse engineering: read the code (COBOL IMS etc). Possible disassembling of code with no existing source code. Document current business logic and process. Support system change processes from requirements through implementation for a complex legacy mainframe/ COBOL / IMS (DL/1) system. Ability to troubleshoot support and provide expertise with IMS as an administrator and developer. Provide input based on analysis of information and exchange of information with the technology team. Provide application support: code/test/implement users request provide user support & training. Resolve production problem implement ordinance change. Participate and perform necessary work for system replacement and system integration with ERP. Conduct orderly transition and decommission of MF systems. Qualifications
Experience with COBOL, PL/I, RPG, FOCUS, SAS. Do reverse engineering: read code (COBOL, IMS, etc.). Possible disassembly of code with no existing source code. Ability to document current business logic and processes. Experience supporting and changing systems from requirements through implementation for complex legacy mainframe/ COBOL/ IMS (DL/1) systems. Ability to troubleshoot and provide expertise with IMS as an administrator and developer. Provide input based on analysis and collaboration with the technology team. Provide application support: code, test, implement user requests, provide user support and training. Participate in system replacement and system integration efforts; conduct orderly transition and decommission of MF systems.
