Oversee real estate development and overall campus infrastructure growth focusing on the MLK, Jr. Center to ensure the continued planned growth of Bowie State University both on campus and off campus. Responsibilities Explore potential opportunities for growth and interface with local communities for partnering and expansion opportunities. Drive university to become a significant Community Hub with emphasis on activities in and around the MLK, Jr. Center. Assist with management of capital projects including the Library and Academic Commons project, future residence halls and explore opportunities to fund renovation projects for our existing buildings. Explore economic development opportunities and enhance in-house forward planning capabilities. Work with the campus community to develop campus buildings and infrastructure improvement programs. Assist with transforming business practices by ensuring infrastructure investments are targeted where needed. Provide broad oversight of the campus facilities improvement program including new buildings, renovations and infrastructure developments Enhance student success by ensuring projects and technologies are implemented in a manner that benefits students; ensuring the future projects are designed and implemented in a manner that is most beneficial for students. Assist with Master Planning efforts to ensure plans are in line with the Strategic Plan. Assist with FM Operations as needed. Monitor the work of external consultants including architectural and engineering design firms, and consultants providing economic and real estate developments services to the university. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the financial performance and progress of each project. Regularly monitor and report on these metrics to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and university policies throughout the project lifecycle. This includes zoning laws, environmental regulations, and building codes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in architecture or engineering, Real Estate Development, Facilities Planning. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project and/or real estate development. Wide and significant experience with both program and project management including oversight of planning, design and construction. Experience with Real Estate Development and redevelopment. Broad knowledge of design and construction processes and working with a diverse customer base to do the same. Previous experience with supervision of project managers for project devlopment and implementation is an asset.
