Nephrology Clinical Associate Professor level or higher - Transplant Medical Director The University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine seeks a dynamic and visionary Nephrology Transplant Medical Director with a distinguished record in academic medicine, particularly in transplant medicine and care. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding a busy transplant program, advancing clinical excellence, and fostering academic growth. Reporting directly to the Division Chief, the Nephrology Transplant Medical Director will collaborate closely with other leaders across UK HealthCare and the College of Medicine. Responsibilities
Improving Access to Transplantation Optimizing Protocols for Pre-transplant Evaluation, Listing, Waitlist Management and Live Donor Evaluation Increasing Organ Utilization Perfecting Quality Metrics and Methods of Posttransplant Surveillance Leadership in Strategic Planning and Growth Assessment of Resource and Staffing Needs Liaison and Advisor to Transplant-Affiliated Organizations Strong leadership abilities as a compassionate listener, strategic decision-maker, and an effective collaborator are essential. The candidate should demonstrate integrity, foster trust among colleagues, and possess excellent communication skills. Prior administrative experience in an academic medical center setting is preferred. Qualifications
Required Education : MD, DO, MD/PhD, or equivalent Required Related Experience : Board certification in Nephrology, Fellowship training or equivalent training in Transplant Nephrology, Demonstrated leadership in administrative roles within a medical school or academic medical center setting Required License/Registration/Certification : Ky Medical License within 30 days of appointment Job Summary
