Position Overview

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a pivotal role in the logistics and supply chain of our organization, ensuring that our products, materials, and supplies are effectively received, processed, and distributed. This position also includes assisting on the production line when needed. To be successful, you will need to have a keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Receiving Shipments: Accept deliveries from vendors and carriers by verifying documentation, checking quantities, inspecting for damages, and ensuring accuracy against purchase orders or packing slips. Processing Incoming Goods: Unpack and examine incoming shipments, record discrepancies, and report any damaged or missing items to supervisors or relevant departments. Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records for all received and shipped goods, utilizing inventory management software and manual logs. Prepare receiving reports, shipping manifests, and other necessary paperwork. Shipping Orders: Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments as per customer orders or internal requests. Select appropriate packaging materials and ensure that all items are packed securely for transport. Labeling and Identification: Affix accurate labels on packages, boxes, pallets, and materials according to company and regulatory standards. Verify that documentation matches physical shipments. Inventory Management Support: Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities to ensure data integrity between physical stock and inventory systems. Coordination with Carriers: Schedule pickups and deliveries, communicate with freight carriers, and resolve shipping-related issues such as delays, lost shipments, or special requirements. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Ensure that hazardous materials are processed according to legal and environmental standards. Team Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse staff, purchasing department, sales, and customer service teams to facilitate seamless operations and rapid problem resolution. Customer Service: Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and external customers regarding shipments, returns, and delivery schedules. Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently to move goods within the facility. Brewery Support: Helping out where asked to around the brewery or building (ie.. landscaping, organizing the warehouse or yard) Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations is an asset. Experience: Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or logistics preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training may be provided. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory management systems, shipping software, and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Outlook). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand or walk for extended periods, and work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels. Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in handling paperwork, labeling, and verifying shipments. Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain a clean and orderly workspace. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with team members, supervisors, and external contacts. Problem-Solving Abilities: Capability to diagnose and resolve shipment discrepancies, delays, or inventory challenges. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of proper lifting techniques, forklift operation, and general warehouse safety protocols.
