We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Senior Network Engineer
to join our Network Operations Team. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our enterprise network infrastructure, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of business-critical networking systems that support daily operations. The Senior Network Engineer must adhere to the company SLA for network uptime and customer response. This position reports to the Manager of Network Operations. Location: Dallas, TX Responsibilities Provide general Level 3 support for help desk and end users in the areas of network connectivity, firewalls, VPN, wireless, and routing/switching. Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower) to ensure secure and reliable network traffic flow. Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise routing and switching infrastructure across multiple sites. Maintain and support secure remote access solutions (VPN, SSL/IPSec). Configure and support wireless networks (WLAN), ensuring proper coverage, performance, and security. Implement, monitor, and troubleshoot network security controls to protect against potential threats and vulnerabilities. Monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot latency, packet loss, and connectivity issues to ensure optimal uptime. Perform routine maintenance tasks including firmware upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and configuration backups. Collaborate with the server, cloud, and security teams to support cross-platform projects and integrations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Network Engineer, Network Administrator, or similar role. Strong listening, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong desire to provide exceptional customer service. Driven to evaluate and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Strong knowledge of enterprise routing and switching (Cisco, Fortinet, or equivalent). Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and secure remote access technologies. Understanding of network security best practices. Experience monitoring and troubleshooting TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and other core network services. Familiarity with network monitoring and logging tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, FortiAnalyzer, Splunk). Experience performing configuration backups and recovery of network devices.
Additional Experience and Skills
Cloud networking experience with Azure or AWS (VNETs, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways). Network automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Ansible). Wireless technologies (Cisco, Aruba, Meraki). Load balancers (F5, Citrix NetScaler). IDS/IPS solutions and vulnerability management tools (Tenable, Snort, etc.). SD-WAN technologies. VoIP and unified communications networking support.
