Overview
Performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies. Utilizes independent judgment in the application of non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves for diagnosis of disease. Collaborates with clinicians to ensure appropriateness of studies and performs related administrative tasks. Responsibilities
Prepare patient for echocardiogram exam. Position patient on examination table according to departmental standard operating procedures. Explain procedures in layman's terms to relieve patient of pre-testing anxiety. Obtain pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports required for correlation with echocardiogram exam being performed. Consult with referring physician regarding patient history to determine appropriate images required. Set up equipment to administer exam in a timely fashion. Use settings on machines to assure accurate results, using technical judgment. Perform echocardiography procedures, including transesophageal echocardiography, as required. Obtain proper views and images utilizing appropriate techniques. Identify significance of all structures visualized on oscilloscope and differentiate artifacts from normal or pathological processes. Observe patient during entire examination. Recognize and report any changes in patients condition and/or motor abnormality complaints by patient including fainting, discoloration, etc., in accordance with procedures. Analyze sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during exam. Document test results in patients medical record and report findings to physician, discussing any need for further evaluation with physician. Perform frequent calibration checks/adjustments on ultrasound equipment and troubleshoot mechanical problems, as necessary. Perform related duties as required. Vocational or Technical school Diploma required. One (1) of the following credentials required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS). 1-3 years of technical experience, required. *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity). #J-18808-Ljbffr
