Role focuses on managing single large projects or programs of projects (typically > $30 million) that support an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracting strategy. Manages development and delivery of a capital project or program, achieving project cost and schedule objectives while ensuring safety and quality. Provides direct management to Project Team members throughout the project lifecycle and collaborates with business unit contractor representatives to meet Capital Project objectives. Responsible for execution of the Entergy Project Delivery Standard with a matrixed team of SMEs to ensure cost and schedule certainty. Regularly reports large capital project status to business unit and corporate executives. Responsibilities Promotes safe behavior and adherence to safety rules; leads the project team to establish leading indicators and proactive safety requirements; ensures contract scope includes safety deliverables as needed. Defines project organization structure and technical skill requirements; assigns qualified individuals to the Project Team; assists in contracting processes and approves requisitions and change orders; acts as Contract Manager or Owner's representative as defined in contracts; issues formal correspondence to Contractors. Leads the project team to develop and execute the project per corporate standards; ensures team fulfills role responsibilities; navigates Entergy Stage Gate Process and delivers required gates, estimates, schedules, and deliverables. Directs project team and contributes to Project Execution Plan (PEP), contracting strategy, cost estimates, schedules, risk register, and reports; coordinates stakeholders and working groups. Contract management for large EPC contracts and subcontracts; monitors contractor performance in safety, scope, schedule, cost, quality, and contractual compliance. Develops and maintains the PEP; ensures documentation is current; incorporates lessons learned and industry experience; manages project to budget and baseline schedule; ensures project controls are in place for scope, schedule, quality, cost, risk, and communications. Provides clear, timely project status reports and presentations to management; identifies and resolves issues affecting project performance; communicates issues to leadership when beyond authority to resolve. Coordinates with Finance, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions to meet corporate standards and budget/timeline goals; transitions completed project equipment/systems to Operations with documentation and instructions. Serves as departmental SME and mentors other Project Managers and team members within Capital Projects.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred. 10+ years experience in Generation; at least 10 years experience in large capital project management; field experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

History of safe performance and active safety involvement. Experience with reviewing, executing, and managing large EPC contracts. Knowledge of capital projects processes, planning, and asset management KPIs. Strong contract negotiation, conflict resolution, problem solving, team building, and interpersonal communication skills. Planning, organization, and time management skills; ability to manage risk and drive results. Ability to influence and motivate others; quick, sound decision-making under pressure. Written report and presentation skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
