Developer-ETL/DataStage Professional
for a
contract
with a client in
McLean, VA . The role involves developing scalable ETL solutions and performing root cause analysis to resolve data issues and improve system stability. Compensation
Rate Range:
$65/hour to 70/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using IBM DataStage (preferably version 11.7) to support data integration and reporting needs. Perform root cause analysis and resolve data-related issues to ensure data accuracy and system reliability. Automate manual tasks and optimize existing processes to improve performance and stability of ETL applications. Collaborate with agile teams to analyze user stories and implement scalable solutions aligned with business and architectural requirements. Support production environments by monitoring ETL jobs, troubleshooting failures, and ensuring timely data delivery. Utilize tools like UNIX shell scripting, Control-M, Jira, Bitbucket, and SQL (DB2/Sybase/Oracle) to manage workflows and version control.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent working experience. Minimum of 34 years of hands-on experience in DataStage ETL development, preferably version 11.7. Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting, Control-M, and SQL (DB2/Sybase/Oracle). Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data issues, and experience working in agile development environments.
